Thailand overwhelms Korea in AVC

BIÑAN—Defending champion Thailand downed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in four sets, 25-13, 25-10, 21-25, 25-16, to begin its campaign in the Asian Volleyball Confederation Asian Women’s Club Championship Sunday at Alonte Sports Arena here

April 25, the Korean representatives, were eliminated from the tournament after dropping its two games in Group B.

Bangkok Glass’s import Ashley Frazier had 19 points to lead the Thais while defending MVP Thinkaow Pleumjit added 16 points.

Montripila Jutarat also had 16 points for Thailand.

Ri Ra Hyang led April 25 with 18 points.

Bangkok Glass unleashed a maelstrom of attack on the hapless April 25 with 61 scoring spikes while the Koreans responded with just 38.
