Foton eyeing Indonesian spiker as import
BINAN CITY — Aprilia Manganang, the brooding, powerful spiker of Jakarta Electric of Indonesia, just might snag a playing stint in the Philippine Superliga after all.
Foton is reportedly eyeing her to become its import in the PSL Grand Prix in November in the absence of Lindsay Stalzer and Ariel Usher.
Tornadoes main girl Jaja Santiago is also expected to skip the conference in favor of her UAAP duties with National University.
The controversial open hitter came into the Filipino consciousness when her gender was questioned by the Philippine volleyball team in the Southeast Asian Games last year in Singapore.
But all is water under the bridge according to Manganang who dumped 20 and 27 points in Indonesia’s games against NEC Japan and Altay VC of Kazakhstan.
She was even seen taking selfies with Filipino fans in the gallery during the matches.
Other PSL teams are also shopping for imports here and in the coming FIVB Women’s Club World Championships.
