BIÑAN—Foton Pilipinas fashioned out an impressive performance to overcome T. Grand of Chinese Taipei and finish seventh in the Asian Volleyball Confederation Women’s Club Championships Sunday at Alonte Coliseum here.
Refusing to yield amid the Taiwanese’s persistent threat, the Tornadoes made one final stand to end the tourney with a 25-17, 30-28, 25-23 victory that improved the country’s 8th place finishes the past two years.
It was only Foton Pilipinas’ second win in seven matches of the meet, falling short of the semifinal expectation when the team was formed two months ago.
