Fidel Castro leads PCU past RTU
NAMED after a famous strongman, Fidel Castro of Philippine Christian University Wednesday showed he’s also got strongman’s nerves.
The unheralded wing man unloaded all six of his points in the fourth quarter, including a game-clinching basket in the final 1.3 seconds to lift PCU over Rizal Technological, 71-70.
It was like a shot straight at the heart of the home crowd who watched the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities men’s basketball at RTU gym.
Later in the afternoon, New Era leaned on its strong frontline scoring to defeat Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology, 81-74.
