ANTIPOLO – GlobalPort outlasted Blackwater in a high-scoring affair between the also-ran teams, 139-126, Wednesday in the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup at Ynares Center here.

“It looked like an All-Star Game,” said assistant coach Cholo Villanueva, who took the podium for head coach Johnedel Cardel and team consultant Franz Pumaren.

Both teams eclipsed their franchise-best points in a game, with the Batang Pier’s 139 points also the league’s season-high in scoring.

“We’re both out of the running for the playoffs, but in the second half, we finally played defense and it helped us win the game,” said Villanueva.

Joseph Yeo tallied 37 points, his career second-best, after going 9-of-16 from three, on top of six assists and four rebounds. He drained six of those long bombs in the first half as he came off the bench for GlobalPort.

Mike Glover also added 34 markers, 18 boards, three assists, and two blocks, while Terrence Romeo had a near triple-double with 28 points, nine assists, and six rebounds to end GlobalPort’s dismal season with a
4-7 record.
