BIÑAN—Everything Barangay Ginebra threw, TNT just knew what to do with it.

Ginebra import Justin Brownlee felt the KaTropa were able to match what the Gin Kings gave on Sunday.

“Talk ‘N Text, they had an incredible game and they played very well, knocking down shots, and playing hard,” said Brownlee after Ginebra’s 104-92 loss to the top-seeded KaTropa Sunday.

“We just tried to rally and win the basketball. But Talk ‘N Text had an answer for everything we brought tonight, so I take my hat off to them,” said Brownlee, who had 34 points.

Ginebra needed to win its final game in the PBA Governors’ Cup at Alonte Sports Arena to ensure itself of the second seed, but the loss sent it crashing to the third seed with defending champion San Miguel overtaking Brownlee and company in the standings.

Brownlee willed Ginebra in the fourth quarter, cutting TNT’s 22-point lead down to, 95-85, courtesy of his back-to-back triples.

Jayson Castro, however, kept Ginebra back with his own triple at the 2:56 mark giving TNT the 98-85 lead and the momentum going to the final buzzer.

“Coming into this game, in order to beat those guys, we knew we had to play very well. But they brought their A-game tonight.”
