PAL Ladies Interclub tees off Oct. 4

TEAM skippers will play key roles when the Philippine Airlines Ladies Interclub tees off on Oct. 4 at Camp John Hay in Baguio as the tournament, for the first time, takes on the format where the fielding of players will be critical.

Squads will be allowed to field in four players per day and with one player to see action for just two days. Only the top three scores will count as the event is now patterned after the other major PAL golf events.

Manila Southwoods-Masters, which will shoot to win the event for an unprecedented sixth straight year, will parade a rock-solid lineup built around veteran internationalists Pauline del Rosario, Mikhaela Fortuna and Sofia Chabon.

Cebu Country Club looms as the chief threat to the Carmona-based squad’s quest to extend its historic reign, but Cebu CC will have to again try to unseat SW-Masters with a lineup that will not have Lois Kaye Go for the first time in three years.

Marie Claire Ong will be the playing captain of Southwoods, with Maria Martinez calling the shots for CCC and Maribel San Miguel to also play and skipper darkhorse Del Monte.
