PHILIPPINE Superliga-Manila bolstered its FIVB Women’s Club Championship campaign by naming a noted Serbian mentor its new head coach.
Moro Branislav, 59, will replace Japanese Shun Takahashi as chief tactician for the PSL Manila spikers who are making their debut in the Oct. 18 to 23 meet.
Takashashi, who arrived here two weeks ago, will slide down as assistant coach 1.
Branislav, a Level 3 FIVB coach, carries an impressive resume, including stints in the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Romania, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya and Belarus.
“He is really our first choice, but we were waiting for him to be available,” said PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
Branislav was just released from his contract with North Korea.
“By this weekend the team will be complete, we are trying to come up with the most competent team possible,” said Suzara.
Ukrainians Ekaterina Krivets and Yevgeniya Nyukhalova have also arrived to join the squad, according to PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
