On paper, Adamson University and De La Salle were not that far apart.
Coming into Saturday’s game at Mall of Asia Arena, the Falcons were just half-a-game away from the Green Archers, undefeated at 4-0, but once the ball went airborne for the tipoff La Salle looked like it was in a league of its own.
Falcons head coach Franz Pumaren, however, saw nothing out of the ordinary from La Salle.

As Aldin Ayo’s wards ran away with a 91-75 win, Pumaren merely felt the Green Archers caught the Falcons at their worst while they played their best.
“I don’t think you have to be a basketball expert to look at the picture, I think they played the best game so far of the season and we played our worst so far,” said Pumaren.
“I saw what happened, I don’t think they did anything special.”

Pumaren, meanwhile, took pride in how Adamson forced La Salle to turn the ball over 26 times.
“For a no.1 team and them committing 26 turnovers, it’s already a big accomplishment for my young team,” said Pumaren whose team dropped to 3-2.
La Salle, though, was just the better team as it outrebounded Adamson, 54-32, and limited the Falcons to a paltry 22-of-66 shooting from the field.
