2016 PBA Governors' Cup semifinals

There were no surprises at the end of the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals as the top four teams went on to the next round.

And it isn’t a bad thing with each of the semifinal match-ups having the potential to be a classic duel.

The Final Four begins on Monday with crowd-drawers San Miguel Beer and Barangay Ginebra locking horns.

The Beermen and the Kings’ lone meeting in the elimination round needed two overtimes to be decided that could very well be an indication of things to come in their best-of-five tussle.

San Miguel won, 111-105, last month with Arizona Reid still the Beermen’s import.

In the other pairing, top seed TNT and No. 4 Meralco are also expected to go through the wringer.

Like the San Miguel-Ginebra series, the KaTropa and the Bolts also went down the wire in their only clash in the eliminations two months ago.

TNT came out on top, 98-95.

All semifinals games will be played at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao./rga
