Nambatac to play in final year for Letran
With Letran bowing out of the Final Four in NCAA Season 92, Rey Nambatac has made the decision to return for his final year with the Knights.
“Lalaruin ko na ang final year ko. Decided na ako kasi ilang months ko na ring pinag-isipan,” he said.
Nambatac was the main man for Letran this past season, averaging 20.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 steals.
The Knights, though, failed to defend their crown and stumbled out of the title picture with a 9-9 slate under new head coach Jeff Napa.
The 22-year-old guard bared that had Letran repeated this year, he would have no second thoughts of declaring for the PBA Draft.
“Ang plano ko sana, kung naka-isa pang championship ngayon, balak ko na magpa-draft,” he said.
Nambatac is also embracing the challenge of Napa for next year’s squad, as he’s willing to join the tryouts for the Season 93 roster.
“Kahit ako, hindi rin ako sure na makukuha for next year. Pero pag-iigihan ko talaga,” he said. “Hindi na magbabago ang isip ko.”/rga
