/ 04:54 AM September 28, 2016

The 2016 SMART/MVP Sports Foundation National Inter-School Taekwondo championships will be held outside Metro Manila for the first time as nearly 800 athletes, mostly from the Visayas and Mindanao, clash this weekend at SM Seaside City in Cebu.

Organizing committee chair Sung Chon Hong said the event will pit novice and advance jins in eight categories—senior male and female, junior male and female, cadet male and female and grade school boys and girls. Competition starts 9 a.m.

All schools affiliated with the Philippine Taekwondo Association will vie for honors, including Ateneo, St. Paul College, Diliman Preparatory School, Mary Hill School, Emilio Aguinaldo College and Montessori Integrated School. Jasmine W. Payo
