After a disappointing season that didn’t see NLEX make a Final Four series, management has let go of coach Boyet Fernandez on Tuesday night, according to an Inquirer source.

Fernandez, according to the source, reportedly got the bad news straight from top level management in a meeting on Tuesday as the Road Warriors are now shopping around for a new head coach.

Fernandez, who won a championship with defunct Sta. Lucia, has been given the go-signal to slide down as an assistant to whomever will take over. He has called the shots for the Road Warriors ever since they entered the PBA last season.

In the on-going Governors’ Cup, the Road Warriors made the quarterfinals but exited in that round after losing to dethroned champion San Miguel Beer in just one game.
