Baguio—Manila Southwoods-Masters turned up the heat in another cold day here, pooling 155 third round points despite fielding only three players to all but put a sixth straight PAL Ladies Interclub title away at well-manicured Camp John Hay.
Mikhaela Fortuna matched par 68 for 54 points, Bernice Olivarez-Ilas accounted for 52 and Sofia Chabon added 49 for 460 overall as the Carmona-based teeners built a 35-point lead over Cebu CC going into today’s final 18 holes.
Junia Gabasa fired 52 points, sister Irina had 49 and Mary Kim Hong scored 45 for Cebu CC’s 146 and 425.
“We didn’t want to give up a single point,” playing skipper Claire Ong, who comes out in today’s final round, said as SW-Masters held sway after fielding in just three players for the second time in three rounds.
Pauline del Rosario will lead the team that will do the mop-up job for SW-Masters today as she also chases the individual title against Cebu CC’s Crystal Faith Neri, who, she trails by a point. Joining Del Rosario will be Ong, Serafina Kim and Lora Roberto.
Getting 47 points from Christine Popp, Alabang led the Founders Division with a 136 for a 16-point advantage over Valley Golf.
