Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand, the backcourt duo dubbed as Fast and Furious, may be heading into their final PBA title run together after years of experience between them.
Helterbrand, however, isn’t thinking of any retirement plans just yet with a Finals series yet to be played.
“We’re not thinking about that right now,” said Helterbrand Thursday at PBA Café for the press conference of their PBA Governors’ Cup finals series against Meralco. “We’re focused at the task at hand, and see what happens.”

Caguioa, who joined in Helterbrand in Ginebra in 2001 after the latter arrived a year earlier, also said he’s focused on the finals and putting on a good show for their rabid fans.
“This one is for the fans, for me that’s what I think about, yun lang iniisip ko,” said Caguioa. “I’m not worried about anything else.”
Helterbrand and Caguioa both got personal highs when they won the MVP awards in 2009 and 2012, respectively, but have been also the target of criticism after failing to deliver another championship after their 2008 Fiesta Cup campaign.
In the 2013 Commissioner’s Cup, the two featured in another title series but this time got swept by the the Alaska Aces.
Caguioa, though, is not committing to any retirement plans as of the moment.
“I haven’t talked to the management on what’s gonna happen after, so as of now I don’t really know, I’m focusing on the finals,” said Helterbrand.
