If the leader of the country’s police force would have his way, he wants Ginebra to finish off Meralco in the fastest way possible.

PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said he wants the Gin Kings to sweep the Bolts for its first PBA title in eight years.

“Best-of-seven ‘to diba, apat, apat dapat tapusin agad,” said Dela Rosa, who was in attendance in Game 1 of the PBA Governors Cup Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Dela Rosa, however, did not discount the Bolts’ tenacity and gave a more balanced view of the series.

“Pero makakahabol din naman so mga Game 6.”

Dela Rosa, who has been a Ginebra fan since the time of the legendary Robert Jaworski, said this is the second organized basketball game he’ll be attending since he was promoted as PNP Chief.

His first was the FIBA Olympic qualifier between the Philippines and France where he delighted the audience with his groovy dance moves.

And Dela Rosa, who idolizes the duo of Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand, said he’ll once again swing to the music especially if Ginebra goes on a roll.

“Oo naman, lalo na pag bumanat na si Caguioa at Helterbrand,” said Dela Rosa.
