Pocari Sweat overcame a poor start and added more misery to winless Coast Guard, 25-17, 25-9, 25-16, in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference Monday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Former La Salle star Michele Gumabao showed the way with 14 points for the Lady Warriors, who clawed back from a 0-6 hole in the opening set.

American imports Breanna Lee Mackie and Andrea Kacsits also wound up in double-figures with 10 points apiece.

“Sluggish start but the good thing is the girls were able to regain their composure and win this very important game for us,” said Pocari Sweat head coach Rommel Abella.

The Lady Warriors posted their first victory after losing to Air Force in five sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-7, 22-25, 15-12, on Wednesday.

Pocari Sweat feasted on Coast Guard’s meager floor and net defense with 41 attacks.

Grenlen Malapit paced the Lady Dolphins, who reeled to 0-4, with seven points.
