Skateboarding legend Dylan Rieder dies at 28

Dylan Rieder, the “cool dude” whose passion for for skateboarding was legendary, passed away on Wednesday due to complications from leukemia, according to the skateboarding news outlet The Ride Channel. He was only 28 years old.

Rieder grew up in Westminster, California, USA, where he cultivated his love for skateboarding. During his teens, he was known for his superb stunts and even partnered with brands such as Quicksilver, Birdhouse and Osiris. To showcase his talents, he posted videos of his sporty antics and influenced younger skateboarders to follow his footsteps.

Aside from skateboarding, Rieder also discovered his destiny for modelling. In fact, he starred in a campaign for fashion brand DKNY alongside models Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevigne in 2014.

Social networking site Twitter created an “In Memoriam” page for the deceased skateboarding legend, and several celebrities and skateboarding royalties posted their heartfelt tributes to him.

One of them was English singer-songwriter Ozzy Osbourne, who shared a portrait of him and Rieder on his Twitter account. “Dylan Rieder. One of the most talented and brave men. I feel blessed to have known you,” he said.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
