PH squad bows out of FIBA 3×3 Worlds
Down one man, the Philippine ended its campaign in the 2016 Fiba 3×3 World Championship with a 2-2 record Friday at Guangzhou, China.
Without Russel Escoto, the crew of Mac Belo, Glenn Khobuntin, and Karl Dehesa could only muster another even record as the Filipinos exited the competition at third in Pool C.
Belo and Khobuntin led the Philippines in the 21-8 rout of Poland, breaking away with a 12-2 run from a close 9-6 edge to finish the tournament on a winning note.
Earlier, the Filipinos lost to Hungary, 18-16.
It was a decent run for the Philippines in its first foray in the seniors’ 3×3 competition.
Spain topped Pool C with an immaculate 4-0 record, followed by Hungary at 3-1.
