A fiery spiker that University of Santo Tomas remembers from long ago stands in the way of the Tigresses and the semifinals.

Alyssa Valdez and her Bureau of Customs squad will try to deny UST an outright semifinal berth when they tangle today in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

With a four-game winning run, the Tigresses only need to score one more victory to advance.

They will shoot for that win at 4 p.m. behind a group of collegiate standouts who rely on a lot of teamwork.

University of the Philippines and Pocari collide in the other game at 6 p.m.

Carla Sandoval, Chloe Cortez, Marivic Meneses and EJ Laure will spearhead UST’s squad against BOC and Valdez, who used to play for the Tigresses during her high school years.

BOC is hoping to bounce back from a loss to BaliPure last Wednesday.
