Chot Reyes is back as the head coach of the Philippine men’s basketball team.
His reappointment was announced Tuesday during a special meeting with the Gilas cadets and Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
SBP executive director Sonny Barrios also confirmed the move to INQUIRER.net in a text message.
“Back in the hotseat. God bless us all,” said Reyes, who was also recently named as TV5 president and chief executive officer, in a tweet after the news broke.
Tab Baldwin, meanwhile, will serve as a consultant for the national team which he steered into a second place finish in the 2016 FIBA Asia Championships in Changsa.
Under Reyes, Gilas made it to the Fiba World Cup after winning silver in the 2013 edition of Fiba Asia hosted by the Philippines.
