PSL F2 Logistics-Manila may have lost big to South American champions Rexona-Sesc, but the Filipinos showed they could put up a fight.
Skipper Rachel Anne Daquis said they could build on what they learned in the 25-15, 25-13, 25-20 loss in front of their home fans Tuesday in the FIVB Women’s Club World at Mall of Asia Arena for the future.
“Foundation ito sa next games and competitions,” said Daquis, who finished with two points including one emphatic hit that got fans at the arena excited. “Natututwa kami kasi nung third set dumidikit kami and lumamang kami, dun nakikita na kaya pala.”

“Nag sho-short lang talaga kasi kulang sa experience against international teams.”
This is the first world tournament the Philippines has ever hosted and for the locals, also they biggest competition they’ve ever played in.
American import Stephanie Niemer, who previously played for Azeryol Baku in Azerbaijan, knows the team can still improve after dropping its first game.

“This is a learning experience, and our team chemistry improves every game so it will propel us in the next match,” said Niemer.
Daquis added they just have to push harder and “be united inside the court.”
Rexona-Sesc scored on its 35 spikes, the same as PSL-F2 Logistics, but had nine service aces against the hosts’ four.
“Focus kami sa communication kasi nagkulang kami sa service and receive and we’ll focus on that,” said Daquis.
