Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco won’t be running unopposed when he seeks a fourth term as head of the country’s Olympic body, after all.
Philippine Football Federation president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta yesterday declared his intention to vie for the top POC post when the Olympic body holds its elections on Nov. 25.
Araneta, who was elected to a second term as PFF president in 2014, told the Inquirer over the phone that he will be filing his candidacy within the next couple of days.
The PFF chief said his campaign will be anchored on strengthening National Sports Associations by fixing organizational structures and mapping out development programs. “We can’t be successful if our NSAs are weak organizationally,” said Araneta. Cedelf P. Tupas
