There’s no doubt in coach Leo Isaac’s mind who Blackwater will be picking first in the 2016 PBA Rookie Draft.

“Mac Belo na,” Isaac said Thursday in Day 2 of the 2016 Gatorade PBA Draft Combine at Gatorade Hoops Center in Shaw.

“Wala nang question dun. Unanimous naman kami sa Gilas draft kay Mac Belo.”

Though the Elite have already secured Belo according to Inquirer’s Musong Castillo, Isaac said the team has yet to decide on who they will select in the regular draft.

“We’re still discussing with our management and we’ll talk about it bukas. May mga scenario naman kami na tinitingnan and kung ano yung magiging best way for us, yun ang pupuntahan namin,” he said.

Though Blackwater traded Carlo Lastimosa on Wednesday, Isaac said that picking a guard isn’t necessarily a priority for the team given its latest acquisitions at the end of last season.

“We have already recruited some players who will beef up our guard line like Nard Pinto, Roi Sumang, and veteran Denok Miranda. We still have Juami Tiongson in our roster. Kumbaga, midway through the last season, nagstart na kami mag-ipon sa guard,” he said.

But Isaac is not closing the door on any possibility of adding another guard in his backcourt, saying, “Kung may makita pa kaming magaling na guard, we can consider him siguro.”
