Pocari turns back BaliPure, gains first place tie

Pocari Sweat gained a share of the top spot in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference after fending off BaliPure in four sets, 25-16, 12-25, 25-21, 25-19, Saturday at Philsports Arena.

The Lady Warriors climbed to a 5-1 tie with University of Santo Tomas, while the Water Defenders slipped to 4-2.

Gizelle Sy scored an ace for Pocari to seal the victory even as Breanna Mackie had 23 points to lead the Lady Warriors while Myla Pablo added 11.

Pocari assistant coach Romell Abella said they’re aiming to get the possible record before the end of the seven-game eliminations.
