Just a few minutes after taking a share of top spot, Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella confidently said they will push for the No. 1 position in the semifinals.

Pocari endured a rough second-set to brush aside BaliPure, 25-16, 12-25, 25-21, 25-19, last night in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference at Philsports Arena.

But to accomplish their goal, the Lady Warriors will have to get past fellow leaders University of the Santo Tomas Tigresses on Wednesday for the top slot in the crossover semifinals slated next week.

“I’m sure UST will give us a good fight,” said Abella, a former teammate of UST mentor Kungfu Reyes.

He knows the Tigresses are in top form, but Abella is confident they can use their experience and “veteran presence.”

BaliPure is already in the semifinals despite dropping its second loss in six games.

“I’m happy with the win but we still have many things to improve on,” said Abella.
