Based on how the Bureau of Customs dispatched the Philippine Air Force in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference on Saturday, it won’t be an Alyssa Valdez show for the Transformers in the Final Four.

Thai import Kanjana Kuthaisong carried much of the scoring load in a 23-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21 win, responding brilliantly to adjustments the coaching staff made to ease some of the burden off the shoulders of the two-time MVP Valdez.

“We need to learn to have more combinations especially now that we’re going to the semifinals,” said Valdez. “In all our games, it was only against UST that we played very well.”

Valdez, the scoring leader, said she’s happy to share the spotlight with the Thais, including Nattanicha Jaisaen, who are slowly adjusting to the Filipino brand of play.
