GlobalPort have stockpiled on four picks in the draft and consultant Franz Pumaren said all four will have a chance to make the lineup.
“Right now, everyone has a chance to make it to the regular lineup,” Pumaren said.
The Batang Pier plucked shooter Von Pessumal in the Gilas round while also selecting guard Alfrancis Tamsi, winger Ryan Arambulo and big man Spencer Eman in the regular draft.
Pumaren said the next few weeks will be crucial for the draftees as the coaching staff will assess if they can adapt and fit the team.
“We’ll be inviting them, so at least we’ll have an idea if they can really adjust to the PBA style and if they can adjust on what we’re trying to do,” he said.
Out of the four, Pumaren thinks Pessumal has the best chance of cracking the roster as he sees him boding well with the guard-heavy GlobalPort squad, flanked by Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle.
“He’s going to be in good company,” said Pumaren as the former Blue Eagle will be alongside gunners in Karl Dehesa and Anthony Semerad.
“I think Pessumal will benefit practicing with these guys every day.”
