LAS VEGAS—Don’t expect the Nonito Donaire Jr.-Jessie Magdaleno battle to go the full route.

Either one could get knocked out by the other.

That is, if the Filipino-American five-division world champion and the unbeaten Magdaleno will live up to their promise of cutting short their battle for the World Boxing Organization junior featherweight title in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargs duel on Saturday night.

Irked by Magdaleno’s referral to him as old, Donaire (37-3, 24 knockouts) said during Monday’s media workout that it’s the brash Magdaleno (23-0, 17 KOs), who’d land on the canvas instead.

According to Donaire, who turns 34 on Nov. 16, the only way for Magdaleno to last 12 rounds is to wear a helmet

“I am a warrior,” said Donaire. “I claim victory.”
