Despite the scarcity of picks, TNT managed to get what it needed from the rookie aspirants’ pool last Sunday.

The KaTropa nabbed Roger Pogoy in the Gilas round but had to wait a few more rounds before getting another crack in the pool.

TNT selected unheralded forward Tim Habelito in the third round, snagged UP guard Mikee Reyes in the fourth, and acquired Arellano winger Levi Hernandez as the final pick of the proceedings.

Assistant coach Bong Ravena believes TNT did well in the annual rookie selection process.

“We’re satisfied with our picks. ‘Yung mga nakuha namin, kailangan namin according to our needs sa team,”
he said.

Ravena was a curious observer during the two-day Combine, keeping a keen eye for talent from what was regarded as a shallow pool.

But TNT found what it was looking for as Ravena and the rest of the staff hope to turn the picks into gems this season.

“At least, yung mga nakita namin na impressive, umabot sa amin so we’re really thankful,” he said.
