PSC enlists collegiate leagues’ assistance
The UAAP and NCAA, together with their counterparts from other regions, will be playing major roles in the Philippine Sports Institute that the Philippine Sports Commission will launch in January next year.
Chair William Ramirez said the PSC would be needing the expertise of the leagues in developing national athletes.

Strength conditioning expert Mark Velasco has been tapped as national training director of PSI, patterned after the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra where most of Australia’s Olympic medalists come from. —June Navarro
