Foton continued its unblemished stride in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix cutting Cignal in four sets, 25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 25-14, Thursday at San Juan Arena.

Moro Branislav’s Tornadoes improved to a 5-0 slate while the HD Spikers slipped to 1-3.

Both teams played without their star players with Jaja Santiago fulfilling her athletic duties for National Universiry and Cignal’s Lynda Morales nursing an injured leg.

Branislav, though, wasn’t surprised with how Cignal managed to put up a fight even without its middle blocker.

“I’m not surprised, this is the real score if maybe Lynda played and Jaja played,” said Branislav. “One set [lost], this is normal.”

“But I always push my team to win 3-0, but one day it’s good and one day it’s bad.”

Imports Lindsay Stalzer and Ariel Usher carried the offensive load for the Tornadoes finishing with 20 and 19 points, respectively, while Maika Ortiz had 13.

Laura Schaudt led the HD Spikers with 18 points while Janine Marciano added 11.

Foton was relentless in its offense as it scored on 52 of its spikes while Cignal’s managed just 37.
