The athletic pair, who were vital clogs during the Warriors’ championship run in the 2014-2005 NBA season, returned to the Oracle Arena for the first time on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) as members of the Dallas Mavericks squad.

Despite not having the most amicable exit from their former employer, both Barnes and Bogut received booming cheers and a standing ovation from the sold-out crowd in attendance as they were introduced prior to tip-off.

Barnes, who’s expected to be the Mavericks’ top scorer, signed a maximum four-year, $94-million contract deal, while  Bogut was acquired in exchange for a future conditional second-round pick.

The Warriors fended off the visiting Mavs, 116-95, in a game where Barnes notched a team-high 25 points in a losing effort.

The Mavericks are struggling with a 2-6 win-loss record through the first eight games of the regular season, while the Warriors are currently in second place of the Western Conference at 6-2.  Khristian Ibarrola
