DAVAO CITY—With almost 14,000 participants, the coming Philippine National Youth Games-Batang Pinoy National Championships is expecting logistical problems.
But for Philippine Sports Commission Chair William Ramirez, the record 13,656 participants in 26 sports during the Nov. 27 to Dec. 2 meet in Tagum City, Davao Del Norte, is a good problem to have.
“This is definitely a happy and welcome surprise to us despite the short notice to the LGUs (local government units),” said Ramirez during the ceremonial signing of PSC’s memorandum of agreement with the host province at Seda Abreeza Hotel here.
“We’ve targeted a maximum of 8,000 delegates,” said Ramirez. “In the past, PSC-hosted competitions had maximum 6,000 delegates.”
