Philippine Air Force showed its poise in altitude and fended off Cignal in four sets, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22, to clinch the championship of the Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Conference Saturday at Philsports Arena.
The Jet Spikers avenged their loss to the HD Spikers in the championship round in the previous season.
Bryan Bagunas relished in his new role as an opposite spiker as he unloaded 27 points to lead the Jet Spikers in the sweep of the HD Spikers in the best-of-three series and claim the Finals MVP trophy.
Air Force narrowly outmatched the HD Spikers in the offensive department with a 57-49 advantage in spikes.
Mark Alfafara was also vital in the Jet Spikers’ title clincher as he put up 21 points while conference MVP Howard Mojica had seven points.
Ysay Marasigan had 18 points to lead the HD Spikers.
