Pocari Sweat’s solid defense silenced Customs and Alyssa Valdez to prevail, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18, last night and move a win away from taking the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference championship at Philsports Arena.

Michele Gumabao provided the spunk and leadership for the Lady Warriors with 13 points in the opener of the best-of-thee finals series.

Breanna Mackie, Andrea Kacsits and Desiree Dadang formed an impenetrable wall for Pocari that frustrated Valdez all night long as the Transformers failed to find a viable scoring option.

Pocari can nail its second straight title with another win tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Earlier, BaliPure outlasted University of Santo Tomas, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-18, to move a win way from third place.

Meanwhile, Air Force ruled the Spikers’ Turf Season 2 Reinforced Conference via a 2-0 sweep, beating Cignal 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.  Bryan Bagunas was named Finals MVP.

In the battle for third, Champion Supra also swept Instituto Estetico Manila, 27-25, 26-28, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11.
