No pun intended, but Pocari Sweat still had to sweat it out in the end.

The Lady Warriors staved off Bureau of Customs in four sets, 25-14, 25-10, 22-25, 25-23 and swept the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference Finals Monday at Philsports Arena in Pasig.

“Very happy kami kasi we accomplished what we came here for,” said Pocari coach Rommel Abella. “Sinabi ko na sa kanila from the start na malakas ang team namin. Mindset na lang ng players ang dapat ayusin kung gusto namin manalo.”

Breanna Mackie topped Pocari Sweat with 23 points, 21 off kills, while fellow foreign guest player Andrea Kacsits got 14 markers.

Finals MVP Michele Gumabao also had 14 points and 12 digs, while Myla Pablo got 13 in the win.

Easily clinching the first two sets, Pocari Sweat looked shell-shocked as Customs claimed the tight third set, 25-22.

But Abella calmed her wards as the Lady Warriors gutted out the victory, capped off by a huge service ace from Desiree Dadang to clinch the title in the fourth set.

“We relaxed in the third set kasi down na ang BOC at akala nila, bibigay na lang ang BOC ng basta-basta. We needed to get back to work, double the effort kasi kung hindi, di kami mananalo,” Abella said.

Kanjana Kuthaisong topped the Transformers with 32 huge points while Alyssa Valdez got 10 in the loss.
