Filipino top seed Khim Iglupas starts her title defense against American Aniya Holloway while three other local bets also open their quest today in the Phinma-PSC international junior tennis championships.

Only two matches were concluded in boys’ singles as rain disrupted the schedule at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex yesterday.

Also seeing action are Shaira Rivera against American Jordan Harris; Rafaella Villanueva versus New Zealand’s Oleksandra Kalachova; and Monica Cruz against Taiwan’s Kuan Yi Lee.

Japanese fourth seed Kazuki Shimizu and compatriot Tomoya Ikeda hurdled their boys’ division foes before rains halted the action.

Filipino Bryan Otico was trailing Japanese qualifier Keisuke Saitoh, 4-6, 0-1, while countryman Arthur Pantino was also behind Japanese Fumiya Yoshino, 3-6, 6-5.
