A strong sense of bravado, incredible striking skills and a penchant for the finer things in life.

These are traits that reigning UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion Conor McGregor and pound-for-pound boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. have in common.

With the former’s impressive victory at UFC 205 against Eddie Alvarez over the weekend, the comparison talks grew even louder, which seemed to irk the retired boxing legend.

“Conor McGregor needs to go out there and do what he do. But never compare Conor McGregor to me,” the controversial undefeated fighter told TMZ. “That’s a total disrespect. Once again, I’m an elephant. Elephant don’t beef with ants. Elephant is so large he don’t even see ants.”

When asked about the recently concluded card at Madison Square Garden, Mayweather claimed that he wasn’t even aware that his Irish counterpart fought this past weekend.

“I didn’t know Conor McGregor was undefeated,” Money sarcastically said. “I didn’t know that he had a reign in MMA for 20 years undefeated and was world champion in five different weight classes. That’s something I didn’t know. So I guess you guys are telling me something new if you say he’s the Floyd Mayweather of MMA.”

In true Mayweather fashion, the 39-year-old controversial athlete continued his tirade by rubbing in the amount of riches he has accumulated throughout his years of fighting.

“If you’re saying he’s the Floyd Mayweather of the MMA, I’m trying to find out: have you ever made $300 million in one night? Have you ever made $100 million in one night? Have you ever made $70 million in one night?” he said.

A potential crossover match up between the two incredibly talented fighters were teased earlier this year, but never really materialized.
