FEU, Racela determined to deny Ateneo-La Salle ‘dream match’
Nash Racela has often been regarded as one of the classiest head coaches ever to grace the UAAP.
He was the only man to ever point out that University of Santo Tomas had a fighting chance for the title in Season 78 and Racela waxed poetic when his Far Eastern University eventually beat the Growling Tigers for the championship.
Article continues after this advertisementBut if there’s a time Racela would show his mischievous side, it’s in this year’s title race where he wants to spoil the possible “dream match” between Ateneo and La Salle.

“That’s really a concern for us because FEU and Adamson both want to be in the finals, and us both are deserving to be there,” said Racela Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena. “We’ll try our best to deny that dream because we have a better dream.”

Racela’s Tamaraws and Franz Pumaren’s Soaring Falcons are determined to stop the Green Archers and Blue Eagles from advancing to the title round.

“I am confident on who we will face, problem ko is the dream matchup because people have it in their minds,” said Racela whose team finished the eliminations with a 9-5 record after taking a 64-61 win over University of the East.
“I have a different dream, and there’s a different matchup there.”
