Eala, Balce keep PH afloat

/ 10:56 PM November 16, 2016

Michael Francis Eala and Manuel Balce stood strong as fellow Filipino bets fell on the wayside yesterday in the Phinma-PSC International Juniors Tennis Championships Week 1 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

The 14-year-old Eala handily disposed of Kyle Tang, 6-2, 6-3, to move to second round in the 18-under meet

Also staying alive in the boys’ side was Balce, who turned back Max Lee of Hong Kong, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Balce faces No. 2 Seita Watanabe of Japan next, while Eala tackles Japan’s Kazuki Shimizu. —MARC REYES
