Organizers of a charity match pitting former world No. 1 Rory McIlroy against Dustin Johnson announced yesterday the cancellation of the event originally slated Nov. 29 due to “contractual issues” beyond their control.

The camp of business tycoon Salvador Zamora said in a statement that “we regretfully have no choice but to cancel the event” which should have been held at  Pradera in Lubao, Pampanga.

A European Tour leg will instead be held in 2018 at Puerto Azul.  —MUSONG R. CASTILLO
