The Commission on Audit (COA) ordered top officials of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Philsoc) to return to the government coffers a fraction of the funding used to finance the Manila hosting of the 2005 SEA Games.
In a letter to Philippine Sports Commission Chair William Ramirez, PSC-based audit team leader Marieflor Tubana asked Philsoc to pay P27,224,245.24.
The notice covers Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose Cojuangco Jr. and Philsoc secretary general Stephen Hontiveros.
