Paul Varilla didn’t have the best of endings representing University of the East in the UAAP.

Losing to defending champions Far Eastern University, 64-61, in his final game stings but Varilla is eager to move on and continue his dreams of becoming a pro.

But first, he wants to march on stage to get his diploma in business management.

“I’ll graduate from school first, get my degree and continue to chase my dream,” said Varilla Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena. “D-League first and I hope I do well enough to get to the PBA.”

“I’m a dream chaser.”

Varilla’s stint as a Red Warrior was shorter than most UAAP athletes since he spent just three of the allotted five years for a student-athlete. He accumulated an overall record of 18-24.

His best season with UE was back in 2014 when the Red Warriors finished with an impressive 9-5 record but they fell to eventual champions National University for the fourth seed playoff.
