The 18-year-old will gun for a final slot against sixth seed Chang Ting-pei of Chinese Taipei, a 6-1, 6-1 winner over No. 3 Shiho Tsukuda of Japan.
But the other Filipino bet, Shaira Rivera, bowed to Taiwanese No. 2 Lee Kuan Yi, 2-6, 2-6.
In boys’ doubles, Filipinos Alberto Lim Jr. and Diego Garcia stunned Keonho Shin of Korea and Taiyo Tamanaka of Japan, 6-4, 6-3 to make the quarterfinals.
