Paul Lee was far from satisfied with the way he played in his Star debut on Sunday.

Though the Hotshots’ prized offseason acquisition had 12 points and 10 rebounds, what he rued was the nine turnovers he committed in his team’s 96-88 loss to San Miguel.

“First time na nangyari sa akin yan,” a disappointed Lee sighed. “Yung dati na pinakamarami ko, since college pa ako.”

Lee said the excitement probably got the better of the team as it committed 30 turnovers in the defeat.

“Siguro nagmamadali kami lahat kasi nga siguro excited kami. New system, new coach, bago rin ako sa team. Parang lahat kami, gusto agad knockout na eh,” he said.

Even Lee admits he still needs to acclimate himself better to the system of coach Chito Victolero.

“Kailangan ko pa rin mag-adjust. Pero madali na lang din yun kasi nakita ko naman kung paano maglaro ang team,” he said.

Though the loss was disheartening, there’s still reason for optimism for the Hotshots with Lee saying that the team just has to keep its hopes up in the upcoming games.

“Sabi ni coach, madaling ayusin yung mga pagkakamali namin kanina. Medyo nawala lang kami sa sistema namin, so yun yung mga kailangan namin na baguhin as a team,” he said. “Kung na-limit lang namin yung mga pagkakamali, baka sakaling iba yung istorya ng game.”
