The 67th Fil-Am Invitational, the biggest amateur team event in the world, gets off the ground Friday with the 4 p.m. ceremonial tee-off at Country Club and Camp John Hay layouts in Baguio.
More than 1,200 players will vie until Dec. 10 when the Men’s Championship division winner will be crowned.
San Miguel-Northern Cement, the defending Senior champion, will parade a team built around former pro and Luisita stalwart Eddie Bagtas.
Pugo Adventure sets out to unseat San Miguel with a team bannered by Fred and Douglas Puckett. Both teams get going on Nov. 27.
“We’re still a strong team,” said Bagtas as San Miguel will miss the services of Tommy Manotoc, who is nursing a bruised rib cage.
Ms. International Kylie Versoza will join the ceremonial tee-off.
