Iñigo Anton, the country’s finest young karter, leads the favorites in the Asian Karting Open Championships at Kartodromo de Coloane Circuit in Macau next month.
The 12-year-old Castrol Yokohama racer, who paces the local National Formula Cadet Expert Karting Championship, is tipped to shine anew in Macau’s Formula Cadet and the Mini ROK races against Asia’s best. “I will go for the win since it’s the final round of the Asian Championships,” says Anton, who’s psyching himself up for the races with the help of racing officials Johnny Tan and Ross Jacques.
The son of multititled racer Carlos Anton will go up against Japanese aces Seiya Hino and Yuta Fujiwara, champion Thai racer Tayapol Kongsuwan, Singaporean Aidan Quek and fellow Filipino Kazhart Romoff.
