Ferrer motivated to bounce back after quiet debut
Kevin Ferrer isn’t losing sleep over his quiet debut for Ginebra.
“As a rookie, it’s not easy to gain the trust of coach Tim (Cone) so I really have to work hard for it,” he said.
Article continues after this advertisementThe former Santo Tomas stud only had three points and three rebounds in 11 minutes on the floor in the Gin Kings’ 108-103 loss to TNT on Sunday.
While he is bothered by his subpar performance, Ferrer is looking at it as a motivation to work harder.
“It’s a challenge for me to bounce back stronger,” he said.
Article continues after this advertisementFerrer wants to put the bulk of his efforts on the defensive end, a facet which he believes he could help Ginebra in a big way.
“I’m not just looking on my points. What I want to focus on is my defense because we have so many scorers. I just shoot whenever the opportunity presents itself,” he said.
The 23-year-old forward also vows to deliver his best in the Gin Kings to the pleasure of their fans.
“On my mind, I just want to do my best every game,” he said.
