Amigo zooms to 7-point lead

EK Amigo zoomed to a seven-point lead over Square and Compass yesterday after pooling 87 points halfway through Regular Fil G play of the 67th Fil-Am Invitational presented by San Miguel Beer at Camp John Hay in Baguio City.

John Marasigan fired 27 and Dan Pangilinan added 26 to form the bulk of defending champion EK Amigo’s second round effort for 278, as Compass and Square managed 85 behind the 28 of Efren de Leon for 271.

Action yesterday served as a prelude to the centerpiece Fil Championship division fireworks as San Miguel-Northern Cement and Manila Southwoods go at it again for the last two rounds at the shorter but tougher Baguio Country Club. —MUSONG R. CASTILLO
